Discovering New Worlds Through Literature is a 6th grade reading and literature course for 6th grade from Christian Liberty Press. The reader features a number of new and classic authors who will expand the literary knowledge and vocabulary of your student while inspiring them to learn for the glory of God. Integrating prose and poetry, students will find familiar and unfamiliar works, including biblical stories (such as Hannah and Jonah), missionary stories (Brainerd, Wurmbrand), stories about family and friends, fables (Aesop), poetry (Song of Hiawatha, Trees, To Everything There is a Season), quotes from Shakespeare and Alcott, and more. Reading selections are followed by comprehension questions and an extension activity. The workbook provides extension activities that are mentioned at the end of a number of selections in the reader. Activities include timeline exercises, creating plot diagrams, writing essays, looking up Bible verses, and more. The test packet includes 8 tests, each of which corresponds to a unit in the text. A mix of matching, multiple choice, and true-false questions are provided. The answer key provides answers to the comprehension questions at the end of the most of the reading selections in the text.
